General Information:
-Established in 1989
-Undergraduate Minor
-5-6 courses offered each semester, any of which will
satisfy university-wide diversity requirement for all
undergraduate students. The courses are interdisciplinary
and designed to address historical and contemporary issues
important to the diverse Asian Pacific American population
including Southeast and South Asians. Many are cross-listed
in the home departments of faculty who hold joint
appointments
-Courses in Ethnic Studies also include Asian Pacific
American topics
-The Pacific Islander American Experiences Course, taught
by a Pacific Islander, has been offered since 1995
-Students are also encouraged to affiliate with the Asian
American Student Association and the Polynesian Student
Association that are housed in the Center for Ethnic
Student Affairs
